Maths

The Maths department is a high profile and well resourced area of the school. Each of the teaching rooms has a projector and interactive whiteboard which the teachers make great use of.

In addition to this there is also an intervention room equipped with computers and TFT monitors. This room is great for groupwork.

Key Stage 3 teaching is organised using the Framework objectives whilst students at Key Stage 4 follow the OCR Linear and/or GCSE modular course depending on ability and prior attainment. All students in Year 10 have the opportunity to be awarded a full GCSE through the early entry programme. Targeting teaching programmes are in place for Years 9, 10 and 11. All students are grouped by ability and they have the opportunity to move between sets following frequent internal assessments.
