Key features of the BTEC Nationals in Uniformed Public Services

The BTEC Nationals in Uniformed Public Services have been developed in the Public Service sector to focus on:

  • education and training for Uniformed Public Services employees
  • providing opportunities for Uniformed Public Services
  • employees to achieve a nationally recognised Level 3 vocationally specific qualification
  • giving learners the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enter employment in the Public Service sector
  • giving learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.

Who would study this qualification?

This qualifications is targeted at learners who would like to gain employment in the uniformed public services sector. It is suitable for learners who would like to enter employment in an operational role or in an office-based role supporting the uniformed public services. The qualifications give learners the skills they need to understand the uniformed public services sector. This qualification can also contribute towards applications for higher education where learners can pursue public services or specialist public service qualifications.
