What is the Course About?
This course provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your scientific skills. The course aims to provide you with the opportunity to acquire technical and employability skills and knowledge and understanding which is transferable and will enable you to meet changing circumstances.
Course Organisation
You will study areas of applied science which may include:
- Scientific practical techniques
- Physiology of Human Body Systems
- Electrical circuits and industrial applications
- Astronomy
- Mathematical calculations in science
- Working in the science industry
How will I be assessed?
You will need to complete approximately 13 units. These units will be continuously assessed and will be awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction. An overall grade will be awarded for the qualifications at pass, merit or distinction. The course is equivalent to 2 A levels.
What can I do next?
Once you have successfully completed this course you will be able to enter employment as a science technician or progress to higher education vocational qualifications such as the BTEC Higher National Diploma in Applied Sciences or a full-time degree in applied sciences, forensic science or other science related courses.
