What is the course about?

Media Studies combines both practical course work and contemporary media theory.

The course has been developed to meet the needs of the students at King Edward VI Sheldon Heath 6th Form with an emphasis on making the course content stimulating, engaging and relevant. Through this course you will develop your practical skills in media production. The post-16 department is well resourced with video cameras and editing facilities including a new suite of iMacs to provide each student with a flexible working environment.

The theoretical units will stretch your analytical skills. Topics are diverse covering aspects of British cinema, sit-coms, audience theory and new media technologies. The course requires you to be motivated both practically and theoretically.
