We take a look back at some of our past students and catch up with what they are up to.
Emma Nugent
"I am at the University of Winchester studying Film & Cinema Technologies alongside Performing Arts. At Sheldon Heath I achieved a BTEC National in Performing Arts with the grade Double Distinction, (equivalent to two A grades) A Level Media Studies at grade B & AS Art at grade C.
Studying at Sheldon Heath provided me with great opportunities and with the help and support of staff I was able to achieve high grades.I believe that if I was to have studied my A Levels at another college I wouldn't have achieved the grades I did this summer."
Charlie Taylor
"I am now at De Montfort University, Leicester studying Performing Arts (BA Hons). I am then going to do a PGCE in secondary teaching.
In the sixth form at Sheldon Heath I was able to settle into the course a lot quicker than I would have if I had gone to a college. The smaller group sizes meant I was able to have more independent time with teachers who were always willing to give their support."
Emily Reynolds
"Looking back on my time spent at Sheldon I can honestly say that I had the best time."
I achieved four A grades; double distinction in Business, and A grades in Media Studies and Sociology. I achieved 100% in both Media Studies exams in year 13 and 100% in three of my Sociology exams over the two years. I am now at the University of Liverpool, a highly acknowledged university, studying Sociology and Criminology.
"Looking back on my time spent at Sheldon I can honestly say that I had the best time. The sixth form gave me many opportunities to develop independent skills. I had a very active role being part of the sixth form council, organising the sixth form leaving celebration (which was a great night!!!), creating a sixth form marketing video and attending all university trips and leisure outings. Whilst taking part in all of these activities I was developing transferable skills that would set me up in later life such as leadership, organisational, time management and how to prioritise, independent skills which I now use in day to day life.
I have come to Liverpool University feeling confident and determined, Sheldon Heath Sixth Form ensured that my transition between school and university was a very comfortable one."
