‘All Schools’ Rugby Graduation

Previous Next

On Sunday 29th May, student Ben Smith, a member of the KESH Academy rugby team attended the Old Mutual Wealth Cup International Rugby match between England and Wales. He was escorted by the CBRE and England Rugby Ambassador, current England player Jonny May onto the Twickenham Pitch. Here he stood pitch side whilst the two competing teams entered the stadium and sang their National Anthems.

He held our graduation plaque and wore the Academy’s Canterbury designed rugby jersey. Ben was a little nervous when interviewed on camera, but as a fine ambassador for KESH he did the Academy proud! Ben said to be in front of 82,000 people the experience was awesome and it gave me goose pimples, I loved it!

59 other parents and students were also treated to a day at Twickenham, thanks to 62 free tickets given to us as a reward for our work as part of the CBRE All Schools programme, so 16 students, who play for the Academy and their parents and friends also got to go and see the game!
