As parents and carers, you are the single biggest influence on your child’s career choices and future plans. At King Edward VI Sheldon Heath Academy, we want to work in partnership with you to ensure your child has the information, skills, and confidence to make outstanding choices about their future.
Explore Together on Unifrog
We use Unifrog as our primary platform to manage careers and destinations. As a parent or carer, you can access your own companion account to explore pathways, look at apprenticeship requirements, and research universities alongside your child.
How to access the Unifrog Parent Portal: Parent - Unifrog
Accessing your account: You do not need a special sign-up code. You can log in or register directly using the primary email address the Academy uses to contact you. If you experience any issues accessing your account, please contact our Careers & Destinations Lead, Mr Jensen, at m.jensen@kesh.kevibham.org.
How to Support Your Child at Every Stage
Every year group has different career milestones. Here is how you can support your child at home during these key transition points:
Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 & 9): Starting the Conversation
Encourage your child to talk about their strengths and interests.
Support them through their GCSE options process in Year 9 by discussing how different subjects link to future career sectors.
Key Stage 4 (Years 10 & 11): Planning Next Steps
Talk to them about their post-16 options: will they stay with us at the KESH Sixth Form, go to a local Further Education college, or apply for an apprenticeship?
Help them prepare a basic draft CV on Unifrog.
Key Stage 5 (Years 12 & 13): Launching Into the Future
Encourage them to attend university open days, career exhibitions, and degree apprenticeship briefings.
Support them with the application process, whether that is proofreading their UCAS Personal Statement or helping them prepare for interviews.
